Volunteering

The success of the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation depends upon volunteers who give their precious time to impact the lives of our sisters and communities. Through our volunteer opportunities, we are able to express our gratitude to donors, grant scholarships to Alpha Gams pursuing their dreams through higher education and transform our communities through grants to community organizations dedicated to fighting hunger.

Qualifications for All Volunteer Positions:

Be a member in Good Standing with Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity
Be an annual donor to the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation (at any level)
Willing to serve a two-year term

Open Volunteer Positions:

AMBASSADOR TEAM (A TEAM) COMMITTEE

The A Team thanks donors, builds and maintains donor relationships.

Duties

Thank donors as assigned every two weeks, year-round, with genuine connections with sisters
Enthusiastically promote the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation to others
Help the Foundation maintain positive relationships with its donors

Committee Specific Qualifications

Basic computer/technology skills
Ability to articulate and share enthusiasm for the mission of the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation
Willingness to engage in meaningful conversations with donors

Time Commitment

1 hour per month – may be more during May-June and December-January

SCHOLARSHIP GRANT SELECTION COMMITTEE

The Scholarship Grant Selection Committee Foundation scholarship applications.

Duties

Evaluate scholarship applications according to established criteria
Enthusiastically promote the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation to others

Committee Specific Qualifications

Experience in higher education or human resources preferred
Ability to review approximately 30 applications total from March to May
Basic computer/technology skills

Time Commitment

4 hours per month during March-May

FIGHTING HUNGER GRANT COMMITTEE

The Fighting Hunger Grant Committee evaluates Fighting Hunger Grant applications.

Duties

Evaluate Fighting Hunger Grant applications according to established criteria
Enthusiastically promote the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation to others

Committee Specific Qualifications

Experience in reviewing grant applications or nonprofit management preferred
Basic computer/technology skills

Time Commitment

4 hour per month during March-April

BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Board of Trustees looks to the future, casts the vision, sets the standards and monitors the performance of the professionally led corporation. The board seeks to govern with excellence.

Additional Duties

Advocate for the Foundation and communicate its vision and mission to others
Engage with members and in fundraising activities
Lead and serve on board committees
Thank donors monthly

Specific Qualifications

The Foundation Board of Trustees governs using the Carver Policy Governance Model. Experience with or a willingness to learn and practice Policy Governance, as defined by John Carver in Boards That Make a Difference, is required
Annual, unrestricted gift at the $1,000+ Jewel Society giving level

Time Commitment

Estimated 5-10 hours per month
Monthly conference calls
One or two in-person board meetings per year
Attendance at Alpha Gamma Delta's biennium International Convention
Trustees may serve a maximum of four, two-year terms
